A wanted man has been arrested following a dramatic police chase that saw him climb onto the roof of a building in Abbey Wood. The incident began on September 14, when officers on patrol in Plumstead Gardens identified the suspect as wanted and attempted to arrest him.

The man reportedly fled from the police, leading them on a short foot chase before climbing scaffolding onto the roof of a building on Blithdale Road at around 11 am. Despite police efforts to coax him down, the man refused to leave his position, prompting the deployment of negotiators to the scene.

The man made off from police and, following a short foot chase, climbed scaffolding onto the roof of a building in Blithdale Road, Abbey Wood, at about 11:00hrs.”
