Detectives from Merseyside Police have charged a woman with murder following the fatal stabbing of Liam Collier, 34, at a flat on Sherlock Avenue, Haydock, on Friday, 2 May.
Kayleigh Smart, 39, has been charged with Liam’s murder and has been remanded in custody ahead of her court appearance scheduled for tomorrow.
Liam’s devastated family issued a heartfelt statement:
You were taken far too soon. You will be loved and missed always and forever.
The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the tragic incident remains ongoing.
Smart is expected to appear before magistrates where the case will likely be referred to Crown Court for further hearings.
