Detectives investigating several suspected crimes at an Eritrean demonstration which became violent in Camberwell are calling for the public’s assistance to help identify five people who may have information to assist their enquiries

On 30 December 2023 more than 100 people, some armed with sticks and missiles, attacked the Lighthouse Theatre in Camberwell Road SE5.

Police officers in attendance at the demonstration who sought to protect the public came under attack – resulting in four officers sustaining injuries including concussions and some requiring hospital treatment after being struck by missiles.
