Driver Busted for Drugs After High-Speed Police Chase Ends in Crash in Farnborough

A daring police chase in Farnborough ended with a bang when the driver smashed into a lamppost — and now he’s behind bars for drug offences.

Police Pursuit Ends in Crash

At around 10.40pm on Tuesday, Hampshire Police attempted to stop a Honda Civic on the streets of Farnborough. But the driver floored it, sparking a short but intense chase. The pursuit ended badly when the vehicle lost control, ploughed into a bollard on Government House Road, spun 180 degrees, and crashed head-on into a lamppost.

Emergency Crews Rescue Driver

Firefighters from Hampshire Fire and Rescue Service raced to the scene. Two crews from Rushmoor station had to cut the male driver free from the wrecked Honda after the impact trapped him inside.

Crew Manager Steve Fox described the moment: “The driver hit a bollard, which uprooted it, spun his car 180 degrees, and the driver’s side smashed into a lamppost.”

Driver Treated, Then Arrested

Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service tended to the man, treating head and leg injuries before rushing him to Frimley Park Hospital for further checks. Thankfully, his injuries weren’t life-threatening.

However, the drama didn’t end there. The driver was arrested at the hospital on suspicion of drug offences and is now in police custody.

Hampshire Police Investigate

A police spokeswoman confirmed the chase and collision, saying: “A short time after failing to stop, the same vehicle was found having collided with a bollard in Government House Road.”

For now, local residents are left shaken from the high-speed drama on their streets, while police continue their investigation into the drug-related offences linked to the suspect.
