Shocking Crash: Lime Bike Rider Dragged Down Clapham Road
A major investigation is underway after a Lime bike rider was hit by a car and dragged along Clapham Road late Tuesday night. Emergency services declared it a significant incident.
Metal Scraping as Rider Trapped Beneath Car
The Met Police, London Ambulance Service, and Fire Brigade raced to the scene following reports of a silver car colliding with a Lime bike. The bike got stuck under the vehicle’s wheels, dragging the rider down the road.
An eyewitness, who wished to remain anonymous, described the terrifying moment: “I heard metal scraping on the road and saw the Lime bike stuck under the car with the rider being dragged along.”
Emergency Response and Ongoing Probe
Multiple fire engines and ambulances flooded Clapham Road as crews extracted the injured rider and rushed them to King’s College Hospital. The rider’s condition is still unknown.
The Met has sealed off two crime scenes to investigate the circumstances behind the crash. Meanwhile, a secondary collision occurred nearby when a distracted driver rear-ended another vehicle, but no serious injuries were reported.
Police Urge Witnesses to Speak Up
Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage to come forward. Investigations continue as emergency services piece together what led to the shocking collision.
