Residents of Harlesden have described the terrifying events of Saturday night (December 14) as “pandemonium” and “scary” after a woman was fatally shot and two men injured in a triple shooting on Gifford Road, NW10.
Tragic Incident
The Metropolitan Police were called to the scene around 9:15 PM after reports of gunfire. A woman in her 40s was pronounced dead at the scene, while two men in their 30s were rushed to the hospital. One remains in critical condition, and the other is being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Another neighbour described how her daughter narrowly avoided the violence: “My daughter came home just 10 minutes before it happened. My son thought there were fireworks, then we realized it was gunfire. It’s crazy and sad. It doesn’t feel safe here anymore.”
Police Response
The area remains cordoned off as forensic teams investigate the scene. Superintendent Tony Josephs of the North West Command Unit addressed the community’s concerns:
“This is a truly shocking incident, and I understand the concern it will cause locally and across London. A team of experienced detectives is working tirelessly to piece together what happened and identify those responsible for this heinous act.”
