Chaos on Gifford Road

Residents in Harlesden were left shaken on Saturday night, December 14, after a triple shooting plunged Gifford Road into chaos. A woman in her 40s was shot dead, while two men in their 30s suffered serious injuries. Police were called to the scene around 9:15pm following reports of gunfire.

One of the men remains in a critical condition in hospital, while the other is receiving treatment for less severe injuries.

Terrified Eyewitnesses Tell All

Locals described the night of horror as “pandemonium” and “scary.”

  • A resident on Creukhorne Road said, “I heard five gunshots in a row. It was terrifying.”
  • A witness inside the River of Life Elim Pentecostal Church nearby said, “Someone came in and said there had been a shooting. I looked outside, and it was pandemonium.”

Community Left Devastated

The attack happened while a wake was taking place in the church. Witnesses said people leaving the service were confronted with the disturbing scene.

“People came out of the church and saw the bodies on the ground. I heard crying and screaming—it was heartbreaking,” said one resident.

Another neighbour added: “My daughter got home just 10 minutes before it all happened. At first, my son thought the noises were fireworks, then we realised it was gunfire. It’s crazy and sad. It doesn’t feel safe here anymore.”
