Seventeen Year old Boy arrested for possession of an offensive weapon

On Wednesday, 25 April at around 1800hrs, detectives from the Met’s Violent Crime Taskforce stopped and searched a 17-year-old boy at Hoe Road, Newham and found him to be carrying a combined knife/hammer. The boy was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. He was taken to an east London police station where he remains at this time. Inspector Peter Moxham, form the Violent Crime Taskforce, said: “We conduct both highly visible and plain clothed patrols and we may travel in marked or unmarked vehicles. We often go unnoticed, but please be assured – you may not always see us but that doesn’t mean we are not around.”
