A fire broke out at ADM Erith a fruit processing factory on Church Manorway, Erith, on Monday, 16 September 2024, prompting the evacuation of the business. The incident occurred when a conveyor belt caught fire just after 10 am.

The London Fire Brigade (LFB) and London Ambulance Service’s Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) were swiftly called to the scene. While the fire was extinguished, the conveyor belt continued to smoulder, requiring additional attention from the emergency services revealing a worker who had to down tools and leave.

There have been no reports of injuries, and the situation is under control. The investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, and operations at the site remain temporarily halted.
