Child pulled from water at Boultham Park as teenager arrested on suspicion of neglect

A 17-year-old boy has been arrested after a young child was found in the water at Boultham Park in Lincoln.

Police and emergency services were called to the park at around 9.20pm on Thursday, 21 August, where the child was discovered in the water.

The child sustained minor injuries and was taken to hospital for medical checks. Officers have confirmed a scene guard remains in place as investigations continue.

Arrest made

Lincolnshire Police said a 17-year-old male has been arrested on suspicion of child neglect in connection with the incident.

Police appeal

A spokesperson for Lincolnshire Police said:

“We are appealing for anyone who was in the park at the time, heard anything suspicious, or saw or heard a baby. Any detail, no matter how small, could prove crucial.”
