Croydon Residents Forced to Leave Homes as Fire Tears Through House

More than a dozen residents were evacuated after a fire tore through a Croydon home early Sunday morning (August 4). Six fire engines and 40 firefighters were dispatched to a derelict house on Davidson Road at 2:35 am.

A spokesperson for the London Fire Brigade said, “Six fire engines and around 40 firefighters were called to a fire at a derelict house on Davidson Road in Croydon in the early hours of Sunday morning. The ground floor and stairs in the end-terrace house were completely destroyed by fire, and most of the first floor of the house was also damaged by the blaze.

Residents in the surrounding area were temporarily evacuated as a precaution while firefighters tackled the flames. The disruption has caused concern among local residents, who are now awaiting the results of the investigation to determine the cause of the fire.
