A tragic fire broke out at a retirement home in Milan during the early hours of Friday, resulting in the deaths of six individuals, according to firefighters. Approximately 80 other residents were hospitalised due to smoke inhalation. The three-story building was reportedly housing 167 people at the time of the fire.
Eyewitness Lucia, a local resident who could see the retirement home from her house, described the scene as “hellish.” She recounted witnessing elderly individuals attempting to protect themselves with wet rags as windows cracked under the intense heat.
