Man Jailed for Raping and Infecting Men with HIV in Shocking UK Case

A chilling case out of Washington has ended in a grim conviction. Adam Hall, 43, was sentenced at Newcastle Crown Court for multiple rapes and deliberately infecting men with HIV.

Serial Predator Lied About HIV and Ignored Treatment

Hall, once from Donwell, Washington, was found guilty of infecting seven men and raping four. Diagnosed with HIV in 2010, he was warned repeatedly to take daily anti-retroviral meds.

But Hall stopped treatment in 2016, keeping his viral load dangerously high. Between November 2016 and May 2023, he had unprotected sex—sometimes using force—with victims, never telling them about his HIV.

Victims Devastated as Hall’s Crimes Come to Light

“From the point of his initial HIV diagnosis, Adam Hall was wholly aware of the risks… Despite this, he repeatedly pursued sexual activity with his victims without disclosing his HIV status. In some cases, Hall performed these sexual acts without the consent of the victims, applying verbal or physical force to get what he wanted. Hall provided one of his victims with the illegal drug GHB… waking to find Hall raping him. It is clear he fully intended to cause harmful, lifelong consequences. We praise the bravery of these men for coming forward and hope this conviction offers some justice,”

– Amy Dixon, Crown Prosecution Service

Justice Served, But Victims Face a Lifetime Struggle

Over 95% of HIV patients in the UK stick to treatment, making the virus undetectable and untransmittable. Hall’s reckless defiance has left his victims traumatised and infected with a life-changing illness.
