Police in Texas are hunting a 24-year-old man after the tragic deaths of his pregnant girlfriend and their unborn son. Ashanti Allen, 23, was eight months pregnant with a baby boy named Jaxon when her body was discovered in a Houston park more than a week after she went missing.

Last Seen Alive and Mysterious Message Raise Alarm

Ashanti was last seen at her Houston home on April 8. Her family only raised the alarm two days later after losing contact. At around 4am on April 10, Ashanti’s mother, Trisa Gaines, received a chilling message from her daughter saying, “I am leaving, not coming back.” Gaines immediately suspected it wasn’t from Ashanti. When the family entered Ashanti’s apartment, everything was untouched. Her hospital bag and baby clothes remained by the door, ready for the birth. “Nothing was taken,” said Gaines.

Car Found, Then Tragedy Confirmed

Ashanti’s car was later found with an unknown driver who couldn’t explain how they got it. Police got involved, and on April 16, Ashanti’s body was found at Chimney Rock Park, just six miles from her home. Her pregnancy was high-risk, and an autopsy is ongoing.

Boyfriend Charged but Still on the Run

Ashanti’s boyfriend, 24-year-old Kevin Faux, has been charged with capital murder for both deaths but remains at large. Faux has a violent history, including a brutal assault on Ashanti last September, which landed him in jail. Trisa said, “I knew all along that he did something to my child.” Ashanti’s father, Edward Allen, urged victims of domestic abuse to speak out: “If something is going on with your relationship, please let your momma, your daddy, your sister, your brother know… if we had any indication, she would still be here right now.” Edward also pleaded with Faux to turn himself in.

Family Launches GoFundMe for Funeral Costs

The family has set up a GoFundMe page to cover funeral expenses for Ashanti and baby Jaxon. It’s a heartbreaking reminder of the devastating impact of domestic violence.
