A sex offender who followed a woman as she walked alone at night before sexually assaulting and attempting to rape her has been jailed for eight years.
Mohangopi Tadiboyina, 30, of Brynmill, was sentenced at Swansea Crown Court after being convicted of attempted rape and sexual assault.
The attack happened on Kings Road, Swansea, in October 2024, when the woman was walking alone after dark.
South Wales Police said Tadiboyina targeted the woman before sexually assaulting her and attempting to rape her.
The victim managed to escape and approached a passer-by for help, who assisted her in reporting the attack.
Tadiboyina denied the offences and the case went to trial.
Following a three-day trial in July, a jury found him guilty of both attempted rape and sexual assault.
He has now been sentenced at Swansea Crown Court to eight years in prison for the offences.
