A 21-year-old has been convicted of manslaughter after a chilling street fight ended in tragedy. The Metropolitan Police pieced together hours of CCTV footage and witness testimony to nail William Amadi for the fatal stabbing of 26-year-old Ali Faris Muhammed.

Heated Row Turns Deadly

The deadly drama unfolded on Sunday, 18 May 2025, outside a busy shisha bar in Brent. Both men were involved in a tense verbal spat inside the venue. Security managed to cool things down and ordered everyone out – but the peace was short-lived. As the groups crossed paths on Kingsbury Road, the argument reignited into a full-blown brawl caught on CCTV. The footage shows the fight escalating until Amadi plunged a knife into Ali’s chest. Amadi fled immediately, leaving Ali bleeding on the pavement. Friends rushed the victim to the hospital, but he was pronounced dead just an hour after arrival.

Police Crack the Case with CCTV and Witnesses

Detectives worked at top speed, scouring CCTV from the bar and nearby streets. Amadi was spotted easily by his shiny black jacket and New York Yankees cap. Voices on the footage calling “Will, Will, Will!” helped officers identify him. He was arrested just 72 hours after the stabbing, caught getting into a cab near his home in Barnet. Amadi had kept a low profile since the attack, calling in sick to work every day. A key witness confirmed Amadi was armed and at the scene. The suspect later admitted to possessing an offensive weapon ahead of his trial. Further damning evidence came from Amadi’s bank card data, placing him at the bar and forensic tests revealed Ali’s DNA on Amadi’s cap.

Sentencing Set for Early May

William Amadi was found guilty of manslaughter at Southwark Crown Court on Friday, 17 April. He will be sentenced at Harrow Crown Court on Friday, 8 May. The case sends a stark warning about the deadly consequences of street violence, caught on camera and backed by relentless police work.
