Trump’s Policy Sparks Passport Chaos
When Jenner’s passport expired, the renewal hit a brick wall. Trump’s executive order mandated that government documents recognise only the sex assigned at birth, halting all changes to gender markers on passports. This left Jenner’s updated documents – including her birth certificate and global entry clearance – suddenly outdated. “I worked very, very hard,” Jenner said. “I made sure everything was changed from M to F, right down to my birth certificate. All my documentation was right.” But when her new passport arrived marked male again, her protests fell flat as the State Department returned her paperwork untouched.
