Trans icon Caitlyn Jenner has blasted Donald Trump after her renewed US passport bizarrely listed her as male – despite years of legal updates confirming her gender as female. The 76-year-old Olympian revealed the drama on Tomi Lahren’s podcast, exposing a clash sparked by Trump’s controversial 2020 policy on gender documentation.
Trump’s Policy Sparks Passport Chaos
When Jenner’s passport expired, the renewal hit a brick wall. Trump’s executive order mandated that government documents recognise only the sex assigned at birth, halting all changes to gender markers on passports. This left Jenner’s updated documents – including her birth certificate and global entry clearance – suddenly outdated. “I worked very, very hard,” Jenner said. “I made sure everything was changed from M to F, right down to my birth certificate. All my documentation was right.” But when her new passport arrived marked male again, her protests fell flat as the State Department returned her paperwork untouched.
Handwritten Plea Left on Trump’s Desk – No Reply
With official channels blocked, Jenner took matters into her own hands. She drove to Trump’s Mar-a-Lago estate two months ago and left a handwritten letter explaining the issue and its impact on her and others. Although Trump wasn’t there, a Secret Service agent assured her the letter would reach his desk. So far, no response.
“I’m not blaming him whatsoever. I love the guy, and I love what he’s doing,” Jenner insisted. “But today, documentation is extremely important. Every time you turn around, you gotta show ID.”
Not a Solo Struggle: Trans Passport Problems Widespread
- Euphoria star Hunter Schafer has faced the same passport debacle: renewed documents reverting to sex at birth.
- Nearly 476,000 US transgender adults reportedly hold IDs that don’t reflect their true gender, per the Williams Institute.
- This discrepancy causes real headaches at airports, security checks, and daily life encounters.
Attempts to get official White House comment have gone unanswered.
