Man Struck by Met Police Van in Afternoon Collision

A pedestrian was rushed to hospital after being hit by a Metropolitan Police van on Turnpike Lane near Alexandra Road on Friday, September 6. The crash happened around 2:30 PM, sparking a swift emergency response.

Victim’s Injuries Not Life-Threatening

The man was quickly taken to a nearby hospital. Police confirmed his injuries are serious but not life-threatening. Thankfully, none of the officers involved needed medical treatment.

Police Van Was Responding to Incident at the Time

At the time of the collision, the police van was en route to another ongoing incident. Following the crash, part of Turnpike Lane was cordoned off as officers secured the scene. A clear “Police Collision” sign was put in place.

Investigation Underway – Public Asked to Help

The Metropolitan Police have launched a full investigation to get to the bottom of what happened. While the road has now reopened, inquiries are ongoing. Residents and commuters were urged to steer clear during the police work.
