Wembley Drug Lord Busted in £280k Cocaine Smuggle
Dylan Broderick, 26, from Wembley, has been caught running a £280,000 cocaine operation using EncroChat. The Organised Crime Partnership (OCP), alongside the Metropolitan Police and National Crime Agency, uncovered his massive drug ring spanning London and the Home Counties.
Arrested in Underground Carpark with Cash and Rolexes
Broderick was arrested on 23 June 2020 as he got into his car in the underground carpark of his flat on Exhibition Way, Wembley. Police seized an EncroChat phone, £15,000 cash, and two luxury Rolex watches worth around £40,000 from his flat.
Encrypted Chats Expose Drug Kingpin’s Network
Operation Venetic cracked the encrypted messaging platform EncroChat in June 2020, revealing Broderick’s secret talks. Using the alias ‘Immensescarab’, he sent thousands of messages organising cocaine deliveries across London and the Home Counties. The chats included images of Class A drugs.
Multiple Drivers and Lockdown Trouble
Broderick had several drivers working across North and North West London. He confessed to rotating them to avoid police detection but admitted lockdown hit their operations hard. One message revealed the drivers got caught due to Coronavirus restrictions.
