Fire crews called to blaze in block of flats in Rochester

Kent Fire and Rescue Service were called to New Road, Rochester to reports of a fire in a three-storey building at 6.18pm on Monday evening. Crews arrived to find a large amount of black smoke issuing and used a hose reel to tackle the fire, which they located on an external flat roof on the ground floor. They spent around 20 minutes damping down and left the property just before 7pm.
