Kent Fire and Rescue Service responded to an out-of-control bonfire in Dover on Friday evening (9 May 2025), prompting a public warning as warmer temperatures increase fire risk across the county.

Crews were called to Drop Redoubt Road at 6:53pm after reports of an unattended and escalating bonfire. Two fire engines were dispatched to the scene, and high-pressure hose reel jets were used to bring the flames under control by 7:31pm.
