Firefighters from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service sprang into action during the early hours of New Year’s Day to battle a blaze that had spread from a hedge to nearby homes in Grange Road, Tunbridge Wells. The cause of the fire remains under investigation, but firefighters worked tirelessly to control the flames and secure the area.
The alarm was raised at 1.50 am when the fire was first detected, prompting an immediate response from two fire engines dispatched to the scene. The dedicated crews swiftly tackled the fire, which had already started to encroach upon two nearby houses.
Using a high-pressure hose jet and a ventilation fan, firefighters managed to bring the blaze under control and make the area safe within an hour. Their quick and efficient response played a crucial role in preventing further damage and ensuring the safety of residents.
A spokesman from the Kent Fire and Rescue Service reported, “Two fire engines attended, and crews extinguished the flames, which had started to spread to two nearby houses. Firefighters used high-pressure fans to clear the properties of any smoke.”
