Avon and Somerset Police have arrested five individuals in connection with an attempted murder after a man was stabbed in the Stapleton Road area near Rawnsley Park in Easton, Bristol. The incident occurred shortly before 9:30 pm on Thursday, July 25.
The victim, a man in his 30s, managed to transport himself to a local hospital, where he is currently receiving treatment. Fortunately, his injuries are not considered life-threatening.
The suspects, whose ages range from 16 to 55, are currently being held in police custody on suspicion of attempted murder.
Acting Chief Inspector Tom Gent of the Avon and Somerset Police provided a statement: “We understand this serious assault is likely to cause concern among the local community and we want to reassure them that it’s being thoroughly investigated. Our officers quickly responded to this incident last night, making five arrests within an hour of receiving the call.
At this stage, the police believe the stabbing was an isolated incident, unrelated to any other ongoing investigations. In response to community concerns, the police have increased their presence in the area, conducting high-visibility patrols while continuing their investigation.
