In the early hours of Tuesday, April 9, 2024, a garage fire in Herne Bay, Canterbury, prompted Kent Fire and Rescue Service to issue an urgent warning to local residents. The blaze, emitting significant smoke, led authorities to advise those living near Bullockstone Road to close their windows and doors as a precautionary measure.

Two fire engines rushed to the scene at around 5:12am, with firefighting teams donning personal protective equipment and breathing apparatus. The crews are currently battling the flames using high-pressure hose reel jets in an effort to bring the situation under control.
