Two Year 9 pupils from Horndean Technology College (HTC) in Hampshire have died in separate, unrelated incidents that occurred on the same day, the school confirmed in a statement.

The devastating news was shared by the college via Facebook on Sunday evening, revealing that both students passed away on Monday, July 7.
The Revd Richard Hutchins, Vicar of the United Benefice of Catherington and Clanfield, has arranged tealights and a prayer tree for visitors wishing to reflect or pay tribute.

Holy Trinity Church in Blendworth will also remain open for the next few days, offering space for quiet reflection and remembrance.

Tributes and Condolences

The college added it is accepting flowers and other gestures of condolence at its main reception throughout the week.

Hampshire Police have not yet issued a public statement regarding the deaths, and The Metro has contacted the force for further comment.

Support Resources

Parents and students are encouraged to seek support via the school’s recommended wellbeing services. National organisations such as Childline (0800 1111), Samaritans (116 123), and Kooth also remain available for emotional support.
