A police officer was reportedly stabbed in a shocking daylight attack near Farm Foods on Clifton Street today (Wednesday, May 7).
A massive police operation involving around 30 officers quickly descended on the scene just after 1:30pm, following reports of a stabbing. Dramatic footage shared on social media shows the chaotic aftermath.
Shocking Scenes Captured on Video
Video footage shows a police officer writhing in agony on the ground, screaming in pain as fellow officers rush to his aid. Just a few feet away, a man can be seen detained and tasered on the ground before another officer moves in to handcuff him.
Witnesses described seeing the injured officer clutching his leg, struggling to stand, as colleagues formed a protective barrier around him.
Several police vehicles flooded the surrounding streets as officers secured the area.
