An investigation is underway after a three-vehicle collision yesterday evening at the junction of Hoyland Road and Fearnley Road in Hoyland.
Special Constables from Barnsley attended the scene, where it was reported that the occupants of one of the vehicles fled before emergency services arrived. Fortunately, despite the severity of the incident, all those involved sustained only minor injuries.
The scene required significant time to clear and make safe for motorists and pedestrians. South Yorkshire Police have expressed their gratitude to local residents and drivers for their patience and cooperation while the area was made secure.

A police spokesperson said:
We are keen to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the collision or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage that could assist with our investigation.
