Lifeboat called to rescue Staff member after fall into the Solent

RNLI Lifeboat Alfred Albert Williams (Tamar All-Weather Lifeboat 16-17) was launched at 2.45am this morning (Tuesday 12 June) at the request of UK (Solent) Coastguard to go to No Mans Land Fort and casevac a 32 year old male member of staff to Portsmouth who had fallen into the water, been recovered but had a suspected broken rib. The Alfred Albert Williams reached No Mans Land Fort at 2.52am. Two crew members were put onto the Fort with a stretcher which the injured man was put into and subsequently transferred to the lifeboat. The Alfred Albert Williams left for Portsmouth at 3.30am and was alongside the Camber by 03:50. Having handed the casualty over to the Ambulance Service, she subsequently returned to Bembridge and was recovered by 5am
