Man Hospitalised After Police Incident Near Primary School in Mile End

 

A man in his 40s has been taken to hospital following a major police and ambulance response in the Burdett Estate area near Masjid Lane, Mile End.

Emergency services were called to Tomlin’s Terrace, E14, at around 2:20pm on Friday, 25 April, amid concerns for the welfare of a man who appeared to be injured. A large number of police and ambulance vehicles were seen attending the scene, located close to Stebon Primary School and the Burdett Estate Mosque.

The Metropolitan Police confirmed that the injured man was taken to hospital, where his condition is currently being assessed. No arrests have been made at this stage.

A police spokesperson said:

“Police were called at 14:20 on Friday, 25 April regarding the concerns for the welfare of a man who appeared to be injured on Tomlin’s Terrace, E14. Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service and took a man in his 40s to hospital, where his condition is being assessed. No arrests have been made at this stage.”

Images and video from the scene show a significant emergency services presence, with blood reportedly visible on Masjid Lane, although details surrounding how the injuries were sustained have not yet been disclosed.

The incident occurred near a busy residential area and close to a primary school, raising concern among local residents. Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the incident involved knife crime or any other form of violence.
