In a significant rescue operation that started just before 11pm on Saturday evening, emergency services responded to a medical emergency aboard the Tui passenger cruise ship MEIN SCHIFF 3, which was traversing the English Channel on its journey from Las Palmas to Bremerhaven, Germany.

The passenger ship declared a medical emergency after a passenger was reported to be unable to walk. In response to the urgent situation, the ship made attempts to enter the Port of Dover.
