New Suspect Arrested in 1983 Cold Case Murder Investigation

A major breakthrough has occurred in the decades-old unsolved murder of Olive Wilkinson. Detectives have arrested a 63-year-old man today, Tuesday, May 21, 2024, following a renewed investigation into the tragic events that unfolded on June 10, 1983.

Olive Wilkinson, 36, was found dead inside her family home on Montague Street, Cleethorpes, having sustained fatal injuries. Despite extensive efforts at the time, the case remained unsolved, leaving her family without answers for over four decades.

The breakthrough came after a cold case review was initiated in 2023, prompted by new information related to Olive’s death. Detectives meticulously re-examined the evidence, leading them to a previously unidentified suspect. The man, whose identity has not been disclosed, is now in police custody.
