A man in his 30s was taken to hospital.
Officers are working to establish the circumstances around how he became injured and our enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Constable Mark Sawyer said: “We know there were a few cars in the area at the time and  would be keen to hear from anyone who has any information.
“If you were in the area or driving passed between 1.30am and 2.15am on the morning of Thursday 1 October and have dash cam footage, please contact us.“
