Detectives are appealing for information following the suspicious death of a 75-year-old woman at a residential property in Tottenham.
Elderly Woman’s Body Discovered Weeks After Her Death
The Metropolitan Police launched an investigation after officers forced entry into a property on Reynardson Road, N17, where they discovered the body of Pepita Sakirecili, also known as Pepita Garcia.
Police were alerted to the concern for welfare call by the London Ambulance Service on Monday, January 13. It is believed that Pepita may have died sometime before Christmas, but her cause of death remains unknown.
Man Charged with Preventing a Lawful Burial
As part of the investigation, Dominic Whitton, 40, of Reynardson Road, N17, has been charged with preventing a lawful burial. He remains under police investigation while authorities continue their inquiries into Pepita’s death.
Police Appeal for Information
Detective Inspector Barry Hart of the Metropolitan Police Specialist Crime Unit is urging anyone who knew Pepita to come forward with any background information that could help investigators.
