Oxygen cylinders pulled from House Blaze in Southampton

Fire Crews were called to reports of flames and smoke seen coming from the ground floor of a terraced house in Tennyson Road in Southampton just after 8pm this evening(Sunday) Firefighters in breathing apparatus used two hose reels and three jets to extinguish the fire, which severely damaged the ground floor of the home. They also removed three oxygen cylinders, used for medical purposes. One woman in her 60s had escaped from the property and was taken to hospital to be treated for smoke inhalation by South Central ambulance service The cause of the fire is being investigated but the incident is not being treated  as suspicious. The incident was dealt with by two crews from St Mary’s and one from Hightown
