Police Launch Probe in Ryde after Person Attacked and Assaulted on the Isle of Wight

A probe has been launched by Hampshire Police and Isle of Wight after a person was attacked and assaulted in alleyway in Ryde on the Isle of Wight . The victim, who was found collapsed in the alleyway in Ryde in the early hours of Sunday morning. Police and paramedics were called to the scene in George Street and Star Street in the town shortly after midnight. A Hampshire Police sourde said that a person was found suffering from serious injuries after being assaulted. Police are hunting for a man who were seen leaving the alleyway in opposite directions shortly before emergency services arrived. It is understood that the victim had been drinking before he was attacked and was seen with the man before they walked into the alleyway. A area in Ryde remains sealed off and under Police Guard following the serious assault It is understood that Police have recovered a weapon from the scene and this is being examined by specialist officers.
