Scumbag threatens Pensioner during Aggravated Burglary

Detectives are appealing for witnesses and information after an elderly woman was threatened during an aggravated burglary in Hounslow. At approximately 10:40pm on Saturday, 19 August four men forced entry into a house in Westwick Gardens. The men, who were armed with hammers and screwdrivers, threatened a male occupant and demanded that he hand over property. The suspects ransacked the house before removing jewellery from the elderly resident who had been asleep in bed. She was not physically injured. The men stole a significant amount of jewellery and watches before leaving the scene in a silver saloon, possibly an Audi. The suspects are all described as white and spoke with Irish accents. One suspect was described as approximately 6ft tall and aged in his 50s; the other suspects, who are believed to be in their late teens to early 20s, were approximately 5ft 7ins tall. Detective Constable Matthew Burt, from Hounslow CID, said: “This was a horrible crime in which a vulnerable woman had her property removed from her person as she lay in what should have been the safety of her own bedroom. I would urge anyone with information regarding these men, or who saw a silver car parked in the vicinity of the house that night to contact us. It is vitally important that these men are caught before they harm anyone else.” Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 020 8247 6246 To give information anonymously call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 or visit crimestoppers-uk.org.
