Emergency services were called to the scene of a serious road traffic collision in the early hours of Friday morning, following a police pursuit that ended in a crash at the junction of Devonshire Road and Croydon Road.

The Metropolitan Police, London Ambulance Service, and multiple fire crews from the London Fire Brigade responded to the incident shortly after the pursuit concluded. Several individuals were reported to be trapped inside the vehicle.

Firefighters used specialist cutting equipment to free those involved and made the vehicles safe.

 


 

The extent of the injuries sustained remains unclear at this time to a  pensioner who has been strapped to a spinal board.

The area has been cordoned off as investigators work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash, including the reason for the initial police pursuit. Motorists are being advised to avoid the area while emergency crews and forensic teams carry out their investigations.
