Street Robbery Gang With Knife Target Man in Gosport

Police are appealing for witnesses following an attempted robbery in Gosport. A 30-year-old man was walking along a footpath between Harris Road Road and Gregson Avenue just after 10pm, on Thursday (March 3), when he was stopped by four men wearing hooded tops. He was threatened with a knife and the group demanded money. The victim was able fend them off and the group fled the scene empty handed. The group are all described as being white, aged between 18 and 25 and of average build. The victim suffered minor cuts to his hand. Did you see a group of men acting suspiciously or loitering in the area of the bus route that evening? Do you know those responsible? Detective Constable Graham Skull said: “This attack took place along a quiet, unlit footpath near to the new bus route. “This kind of group attack is rare in this area, however we would like to remind members of the public to stick to well lit and populated areas and walk with other people whenever possible.” If you have any information please contact the police on 101
