Two women, aged 26 and 28, were arrested by Met Flying Squad detectives yesterday afternoon after allegedly attempting to rob a shop in the Church Road area. The arrests come after an ongoing investigation linked to two previous incidents at a shop in Belvedere.

The trio, under surveillance by police, were apprehended as part of a targeted operation following reports of attempted robberies at a local business. Detectives had been monitoring the women’s activities after the previous incidents, which raised suspicions about their involvement in criminal activity.
A Metropolitan Police spokesperson confirmed: “The Met Flying Squad’s swift action has prevented what could have been a serious crime. We are continuing to investigate these incidents and are committed to holding those responsible accountable for their actions.”

The public is urged to come forward with any information that may assist the investigation. Officers continue to appeal for witnesses to the events in Church Road and Belvedere to help piece together the full details of the attempted robbery and previous incidents.

The suspects are expected to appear in court in the coming days.
