A woman in her 60s has tragically died after being rescued from the sea off Skegness beach yesterday evening, despite desperate efforts by lifeboat crews and paramedics to save her.
A spokesperson for the RNLI confirmed:
“Our lifeboat was launched in response to reports of a person in difficulty in the water at Skegness beach. The casualty was recovered to shore where CPR was administered. Despite the best efforts of all involved, the person was unable to be saved.”
Lincolnshire Police said her next of kin have been informed. The death is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner.
