Officers have been looking for Matthew Gibson, of Mansfield, since the early hours of Saturday, January 14th.
On Saturday afternoon, a man’s body was discovered on land near Old Newark Road in Rainworth.
Nottinghamshire Police Detective Inspector Andrew Hall stated: “While formal identification is still pending, Mr Gibson’s family has been notified of this tragic discovery.
“We do not believe what occurred was suspicious, but we are curious as to what occurred.
“Anyone with additional information is asked to call 101 and reference incident 390 from Sunday, January 15th.”
