Police Hunt E-Bike Duo After Shocking Attempted Motorcycle Theft in Gravesend

Police are appealing for information following a violent attempted robbery in Gravesend, during which a motorcyclist was repeatedly kicked by two suspects on an electric bike, causing a crash that left him with serious leg injuries.

The incident took place on Sunday (March 16) between 4.20pm and 4.30pm, as the victim was riding his red Honda motorbike from Rochester Road to Parrock Road.

According to police, the two males on the electric bike targeted the motorcyclist and repeatedly kicked him while he was riding, in what officers believe was a deliberate attempt to steal the vehicle. The sustained attack caused the victim to lose control and crash into roadside railings.

Emergency services attended the scene, and the rider was taken to hospital with serious leg injuries. His condition is not believed to be life-threatening, but the injuries are described as potentially life-altering.

A spokesperson for Kent Police said:

“We are investigating a disturbing incident in which a motorcyclist was targeted and violently assaulted by two males on an electric bike. This was a brazen and dangerous attempt to steal the victim’s vehicle in broad daylight.

We are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the incident, has dashcam footage, or who may recognise the suspects to contact us immediately.”

The suspects were last seen fleeing the scene on the electric bike. Descriptions are limited at this stage, but officers are reviewing CCTV footage from surrounding areas.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Kent Police on 101, quoting incident reference [insert reference number if available]. Alternatively, information can be passed anonymously to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
