Three arrests made in respect of Blackheath murder probe

Officers investigating the murder of woman found dead in Blackheath have made three arrests. A 40 year old man was arrested on Sunday, 7 July, a 49 year old woman and a 45-year-old man were arrested on Monday, 8 July. All three were arrested on suspicion of murder and were taken to a south London police station where they currently remain in police custody. An investigation led by the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command was launched after police were called to garages in Prendergast Road, Blackheath at around 17:00hrs on Friday, 5 July following reports that a body having been found inside a garage. The death is being treated as suspicious and efforts to formally identify the deceased are on-going, however, the family of a woman reported missing on Wednesday, 15 May have been informed. A post-mortem examination held at Greenwich mortuary on Sunday, 7 July was not able to establish a cause of death. A crime scene remains in place and enquiries into the full circumstances continue.
