Unearth the Truth in Skegness Murder Investigation of Petra Ross

Detectives are continuing to investigate a murder in Skegness and have formally named the victim as 23-year-old Petra Ross, reported missing on January 19.

The investigation was launched after the discovery of a woman’s body near Gibraltar Point. A 45-year-old man who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail as enquiries continue.

Detective Chief Inspector Jen Lovatt, leading the investigation, expressed gratitude to the local community for their support. She emphasised that investigations are still in progress and urged witnesses to come forward. DCI Lovatt stated, “We continue to appeal for witnesses and would urge people to get in touch if you believe you’re in possession of any information that can assist with our inquiries.”

The investigative team appealing for information, particularly focusing on the drivers and occupants of two cars entering the Princes Parade car park between 11.21pm and 11.27pm on Wednesday, January 17. The car park is adjacent to the boating lakes in Skegness. Authorities are also keen to hear from those who may have observed any activity around the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve or a white vehicle in the area between 23.30 GMT on January 17 and 08.00 GMT on January 18.

The Major Crime Unit has established a dedicated Major Incident Public Portal (MIPP) under Operation Linnet. This portal serves as a platform for individuals with information and media content related to the case to submit them directly to the investigative team.

Anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or unusual during this timeframe is encouraged to contact 101 or email [email protected], quoting incident 386 of January 19 in the subject line.
