Raimonds Vilde, 40, is facing serious charges after a dramatic police encounter in Middleton-on-Sea.
Shocking Incident on Lane End Road
Sussex Police were called to Lane End Road at around 6pm on Sunday, March 1, after reports of a vehicle stopped in the middle of the road. Witnesses said the driver appeared to be asleep at the wheel.
When officers arrived, two police members approached the car. That’s when Vilde allegedly launched an assault. One officer suffered a head injury and required hospital treatment.
Serious Charges Laid
Vilde, from Sycamore Road, Bognor, has been charged with drink-driving and grievous bodily harm to a police officer, plus assaulting another officer at the scene.
He was remanded to appear at Crawley Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, March 3.
