Emergency crews have responded to two separate fatal falls from cliffs near Eastbourne in just one day.
Man Falls from Beachy Head Cliff
On Wednesday, 25 March at around 12.25pm, police were called to Beachy Head following reports of a man plunging over the cliff edge. Rescue teams later recovered his body from the base of the cliffs. His next of kin have been informed.
A woman dies in a separate cliff fall the Next Day
The following day, Thursday 26 March at approximately 1.50 pm, emergency services rushed to the same area after a woman was reported to have fallen from the cliffs. Coastguards recovered her, but she was pronounced dead at the scene. Her family has also been notified.
Ongoing Investigations and Support Offered
Police have confirmed the woman’s death is not being treated as suspicious, and the case has been passed to the coroner. Investigations into both incidents continue.
