An investigation has been launched after the body of a woman was discovered in the English Channel, approximately five miles off the coast of Brighton on Saturday (April 19).
The emergency response was triggered just before midday after a member of the public spotted the body floating in the water. Brighton RNLI’s B-class lifeboat Random Harvest was paged at 11:52am and quickly launched to recover the woman from the sea.
“Enquiries are ongoing, alongside partner agencies, to identify the woman and establish the full circumstances of the situation.”
