Magistrates have dealt with a series of criminal cases involving stalking, dangerous driving, shoplifting, and drink driving across Bexley and the surrounding areas.
Erith man sentenced for stalking
Julian Miskin, 35, of Maximfeldt Road, Erith, admitted stalking without fear, alarm or distress between March 1 and March 5 this year.
Miskin sent more than 200 messages, made repeated calls, and attended the victim’s address during the four-day period.
He was given a one-year community order, which includes 100 hours of unpaid work, and handed a restraining order.
Bexley man smashed JD Sports doors with bat
Kaan Karaoglan, 22, of Glenview, Bexley, admitted possessing an offensive weapon and causing criminal damage at JD Sports on Bexleyheath Broadway on August 31 last year.
Armed with a wooden bat, Karaoglan smashed the glass doors, causing damage estimated at more than £1,000.
He will be sentenced at a later date.
Police chase through Belvedere
Harry Rossetter, 24, of Erith Road, Belvedere, admitted dangerous driving, aggravated vehicle taking, possessing an offensive weapon, failing to stop for police, and possessing cocaine and methylamphetamine.
On June 21, Rossetter drove a stolen Ford Kuga dangerously along Erith Road and Abbey Road, failing to stop when pursued by police.
When apprehended, he was found in possession of drugs and a friction lock baton.
He was sentenced to one year in prison, suspended for two years, ordered to complete up to 50 days of rehabilitation activities, and banned from driving for three years.
Belvedere shoplifter stole £416 from Sainsbury’s
William Collins, 52, of Gertrude Road, Belvedere, admitted stealing £416 worth of goods from Sainsbury’s in Bexley on July 7.
He was remanded on unconditional bail ahead of sentencing.
Orpington man caught drink driving on A20
Fuad Gafow, 27, of Whippendell Close, Orpington, admitted drink driving on July 7 after being stopped in a Ford Transit van on the A20.
He gave a breath test reading of 67 micrograms of alcohol per 100ml of breath, almost double the legal limit of 35.
Gafow was fined £120 and banned from driving for 18 months, with the disqualification to be reduced if he completes a drink-drive rehabilitation course.
