A body has been discovered in the search for Rebecca Holdham, a 38-year-old mother of two who had been missing for a Weekweek.
On Sunday, September 7, Rebecca’s children returned home at 10am to find their mother absent. She was last seen at her residence on the Ockley england/park/”>park-estate/”>Park estate, near Hassocks in West Sussex.
A major search operation was initiated, involving drones, dogs, and a police helicopter, as her disappearance was described as ‘completely out of character.’

Local residents participated in the search, scouring the countryside and putting up missing persons posters, hoping to find the keen horsewoman.
Body Discovered Near Last Seen Location
On September 14, a farmer found the body while bringing sheep into a field between Hassocks and Burgess Hill, not far from where Ms Holdham was last spotted. A police tent has been erected in a private field overlooked by a windmill, which does not have a public footpath.
Sussex Police confirmed: ‘Sadly, the body of a woman was found on Sunday in Hassocks. The family of missing Rebecca Holdham has been informed and is being supported by our officers. Enquiries are ongoing to confirm the woman’s identity.’
After her disappearance, a close friend of Ms Holdham, Kerry Malby, stated: ‘She’s a devoted mum and this is completely out of character. She wouldn’t just leave her children. We can’t understand it. In a very short space of time, she has just completely vanished. We’ve no idea if she left of her own accord or if she’s been taken.’
