A Man From Sittingbourne Has Been Charged With A String Of Burglary And Theft Offences, Including Several Break-ins At A Greyhound Stadium

It is claimed that between Sunday, January 1 and Monday, January 2, 2023, bar areas inside Central Park Stadium, Murston, were repeatedly forced open, and that alcohol, including multiple bottles of spirits, was stolen. Three laptops and a tip jar worth around £100 were also allegedly taken, with damage to the Church Road premises estimated to be in the thousands of pounds.

Officers from the Swale Local Policing Team have also been investigating allegations that a man walking around the Bourne Place car park in Sittingbourne on Monday 30 January was seen trying a number of vehicle door handles. The suspect is also accused of attempting to steal a bicycle from outside the Sittingbourne train station.

Liam Wood was arrested and taken into custody on the same day. He was later charged with four counts of burglary, going equipped for theft, two counts of vehicle interference, and attempted theft of a bicycle. He was 32 years old and lived on Crown Quay Lane in Sittingbourne. He was also charged with being in public with a knife.

The suspect was remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear in Medway Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, January 31.
